Neo-Futurist Plays

DISCLAIMER: Kenjiro is not a member of any Neo-Futurist ensemble (though he’d certainly like to be someday). He just dabbles in the aesthetic.

These plays were originally created for my 2018 Writing and Performing the Two-Minute Play class at the Neo-Futurist Theater in Chicago. They each run at around 2 minutes.

 

“How To Stage A Storm At Sea Using Sound Effects, A Spray Bottle, A Whale Prop, and Ahab’s Monologue from Moby Dick”

In this play, we test the limits of stage magic by recreating as accurately as possible a violent storm from Herman Melville’s classic American novel Moby Dick, which I may or may not have read before writing this.
